Moncton: a solo exhibition, a festival, an artist talk, a workshop

The opening of Surrounded Uncaring Skies, a solo exhibition I made for the FICFA (Festival International du cinéma francophone en Acadie) took place on November 12 at the Galerie d'art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen in Moncton.

FICFA opened on November 11 and shows a great variety of francophone cinema in its programmation. What makes FICFA also special for Moncton's community, is that in the Volet arts médiatique (curated by Angèle Cormier) local artists are taking part to the programmation in events such as Acadie Underground, Séances éphémères and Objectif Oblique. They are part of the greatest highlights of the festival.

Thinking of the Image: Between Performance and Fiction.
I was invited to give a workshop at the Université de Moncton for the Pro part of FICFA. We discussed various practices in the field of video art, expanded cinema, photography and performance art, in short, that uses different strategies with performance and the camera. Afterwards the participants were invited to make experiments alone and in groups on the campus of the university.
